MediaPost Rates & Data

MediaInternet, the Net works for media

More than 32,000 media kits online

MediaPost Rates & Data is at the core of MediaInternet ´s database and applications. This tool comprises an impressive set of data entry tools for sellers, media buying tools for buyers and the platform and staff to make things happen.

Among other applications the Directory is made of the following groups:

Media Kit Search Engine

Advertiser or agency users can retrieve information in several ways: by media type, by format, coverage, parent company, media groups and other parameters. This is unique, particularly since the whole media industry is represented from the smallest local TV station to all the relations that exist with other media or companies across the board.

Smart Media Kits

Media kits are not presented in raw format but on a standardized and quick to use online files. Since we inputted all information into a relational database, users can be very efficient when building a list of media, placing orders and communicating with them. With our new print, broadcast and online ordering tools tied to what we call smart media kits, users are able to build individual or group avails and insertion orders by just clicking a few buttons.

Data Maintenance Applications

We have also developed the tools to create and maintain the catalogue of mediaefficiently. Using our applications data entry personnel can organize media holding companies, media properties, data, rates, coverage, tech specs, special packages and all sorts of relevant information, which is immediately displayed on the Directory ’s user interface.

Since media sales department personnel can access their Media Kit area using a password and user name, we encourage them to update their data on their own, a way of making information even more current. We have also built triggers to prevent unauthoized database structural changes.

Advertiser and Agency Media Planning, Presentation and Communication Tools

These applications help buyers easily build a Broadcast, Print, Internet or Outdoor media plan in a fraction of the time it takes using a spreadsheet or typing orders manually. Plans are kept in a password-protected database and can be shared across all levels of an organization or even with clients. They can also be recycled, duplicated and added to other plans. Our communications infrastructure helps user to build, send and receive orders and messages as well. All of these tools connect to the rates, coverage and communications database: that was the biggest challenge and we’re getting there.

Media Sales Department Proposal, Presentation and Communication Tools

We have built applications that help media departments make proposals in far less time than if they had to write them on Excel spreadsheets or using other software programs. Pressing a button, proposals turn into presentations (or can be exported as MS Excel spreadsheets). Communication tools help to respond to requests, orders and email messages also and complement the buyer side tools to perfection. We keep working with sales departments to create applications that are really useful for them as a way to obtain their commitment to the task of keeping their information current.

CRM and communication tools.

Maintaining a database of this size and depth implies communicating by several channels. We have built applications to follow on data maintenance, media relationships, holding changes, group buyouts, format changes, rates and coverage/circulation changes. These applications help us be very efficient in maintaining information while at the same time we talk to media, keep current in executive changes and work using fresh data. On top of that, we can throw hundreds, even thousands of data entry personnel to work concurrently in the same database if we need to, from anywhere in the world. That’s the beauty of Web based tools.
